Point System
All athletes will have four marks (or times) counted towards their cumulative individual points as well as their teams overall points. These points are based on the IAAF scoring table allowing for a relatively even distribution of points across discipines and genders. Core athletes must compete at a minimum of 1 prelim (Time 3) and the championship (Time 4). For all marks achieved at CTFL meets, athletes will be given 30 additional IAAF points added to their score. The remaining two times (Time 1 & 2) that will be counted for points can either be accumulated at the designated official CTFL prelim meets or any other sanctioned meet as per their provincial athletics organization. The CTFL will take the best result for each athlete for Time 1 and Time 2 up until the July 20th championship.

Example of how the IAAF scoring table works:
A men's 400m result of 47.19 seconds is equal to 1032 points, whereas a men's 400m result of 47.38 total 1020 points. Therefore the better the result, the more points you accumulate.
See "About the CTFL" page for more information on the CTFL points system
