Point System

All athletes will have four marks (or times) counted towards their cumulative individual points as well as their teams overall points. These points are based on the IAAF scoring table allowing for a relatively even distribution of points across discipines and genders. Utility athletes must compete in minimum of 4 meets prior to the July 20th championship. Unlike core athletes, they do not need to attend any CTFL meets. As such, their four marks/times will be taken from any sanctioned meet as per their provincial athletics organization.

Example:

Mark 1
Mark 2
Mark 3
Mark 4

Total IAAF points equal to the results of the four marks

Example of how the IAAF scoring table works:

A men's 100m result of 10.07 seconds is equal to 1181 points, whereas a women's shot put result totalling 1181 points is equal to a 19.58 metre throw. If an athlete does better (worse) than the marks above (relative to their event and gender), they will recieve a higher (lower) amount of points.

See "About the CTFL" page for more information on the CTFL points system
